Tower Bridge is the most famous bridge in London. The bridge was built in 1894 by Horace Jones and Wolfe Barry. They started their work in 1886 and used about 11,000 tonnes of steel to build it. On the bridge worked over 400 people. The bridge is 60 metres long and it has two towers. The towers are 43 metres tall. You can climb to the top of the tower and see the whole centre of London from there. The Tower Bridge can open so that boats and ships could go under the bridge. It usually opens four or five times a week. It is one of the symbols of London.
