1. Many citizens and foreigners visit beaches in Poland
2. They leave a lot of rubbish - empty cans of cola, tins of peanuts, crisps packs, bottles and ordinary things like combs, pens, pencils and clothes.
3. This affects local wildlife. Seagulls or other birds eat the substances from the rubbish which is left and they often get sick as a result of this. Fish may also get sick when rubbish is carried into water by the wind. Local people don't like tourists because of this 'rubbish business'. Besides, when some bottle is left on the beach, it may break and some other tourists may step on this broken glass and get their feet hurt. That 's why rubbish left on the beach may be dangerous for people.
4. If this tendency / phenomenon(zjawisko) continues, the population of local animals will be reduced. Also, tourists will stop visiting beaches when they realise one day that the beaches turned into a big dumping ground(wysypisko smieci). Finally, the beaches may be closed because of dangerous level of bacteria and viruses being transported from the rubbish into water.
5.We can warn people that animals will get poisoned, water will be contaminated and beaches will be closed if they don't stop leaving the rubbish. We can make posters to warn people what may happen if they continue to do this. We can protest on the beach against leaving the rubbish. We can report to the police that rubbish is left and people who do this will be punished. Leaving the rubbish on the beach is illegal in Poland.
We can do many things but the most important thing is to start it right now - when it's not too late yet, as long as the animals are still alive, the water is still pure and the beaches exist. We can do something as long as we think that leaving rubbish on the beach is illegal.
