Bateria- to dwa lub więcej ogniw galwanicznych połączone razem przeznaczone do zasilania różnych urządzeń przenośnych, np. żarówki w latarce elektrycznej. Potocznie również w odniesieniu do pojedynczego ogniwa galwanicznego.
Przewodniki- substancja, która dobrze przewodzi prąd elektryczny, a przewodzenie prądu ma charakter elektronowy. Atomy przewodnika tworzą wiązania, w których elektrony walencyjne (jeden, lub więcej) pozostają swobodne (nie związane z żadnym z atomów), tworząc w ten sposób tzw. gaz elektronowy.
