Konflikt króla Bolesława Śmiałego z biskupem Stanisławem ze Szczepanowa zakończył się skazaniem na śmierć przez poćwiartowanie biskupa. Wyrok wydał król. Przyczynami konfliktu był bunt możnowładców, którego przewodnikiem był właśnie biskup Stanisław oskarżony o zdradę stanu, to że biskup mieszał się za bardzo w sprawy państwowe i nie dostosowywał się do rozkazów króla. Noo i chyba tyle :P

św. Stanisław został skazany za zdradę narodu- był po prostu zdrajcą. Spór pomiędzy Bolesławem Śmiałym a św. Stanisławem rozchodził się o władzę w młodym państwie polskim. Stanisław był jednak przeciwko królowi. Bolesław Śmiały odkrywszy spisek skazał go na śmierć przez poćwiartowanie .
